ink and chalk paint on 1920 ledger paper, 1960s player piano paper, and a 1960s blueprint of a Tastee-Freez
“That’s why I’m lonesome and blue, many tears I have shed since your love I’ve tried to gain. Oh! What pain my heart bears since I’ve found I’ve loved…” That sad song is on the player piano paper running along the bottom of this collage. It’s right next to another artifact from the 1960s: a blueprint for a Tastee-Freez franchise. And rounding out the mix of materials is some ledger paper from 1920. This design in very simple, but I think it has a certain vivacity to it. It makes me happy to look at it.
