Flowers, flowers, flowers. It’s all I’ve wanted to create lately. I think it actually goes back to my childhood. My family had a Picasso print of “Bouquet of Flowers” and I loved it. I loved the simplicity of the drawing. He conveyed so much in just a few lines.
Made me think of something my mother said recently. We were talking about a man who bought a collage from me at a festival. He was dragging around two hot and tired kids. And my Mom said, “Well you know, they might not care about it now, but that art will be a part of their childhood home now. They’ll always remember it.” That got to me. There is a trust between an artist and a collector. I believe that.
