This is an experimental collage.  I began by using Adobe Firefly to generate the form of a woman sitting in a chair.  I then incorporated the figure into an analog cut-and-paste paper collage made out of ink-washed ledgers from the 1800s.  The old ways meet the new.

Like the Dadaists working at the beginning of the last century, I used new media in a way that upends long-defined artistic practices like craft, control, intentionality, and collaboration.    The use of AI to create works of art is a hotly contested subject, so the jury is still out on whether or not this antique paper collage can be considered “real art”.

But like I said, it’s an experiment, and there is no place for technological experimentation like Pittsburgh.
