security envelopes on 1980s scientific library catalog cards with postal stamps and admission tickets
I go down these ephemera rabbit holes on Etsy and end up with the most wondrous materials. I found a guy who sells tiny pieces of security pattern envelopes. Yes! I got a security envelope in the mail full of itty bitty security envelopes. (It was very meta.)
So I dumped them out on a background of library catalog cards and just played around until they turned into something.  Most times I have an idea going into a collage, but not today. These cityscapes kind of just happened. It was fun getting lost in the minutia.
