These cat collages are built from real antique paper. A nineteenth century penmanship exercise. A page of 1911 chemistry homework. A handwritten ledger. A technical diagram traced in pencil. Each cat is cut and set directly onto one of these pages, so the history underneath stays visible instead of being covered over.
I assemble every collage individually, piece by piece, from paper I’ve collected over many years. Each one measures 8 by 10 inches and comes framed and matted in white, ready to hang straight out of the box.
Because the paper itself can’t be replaced once it’s used, every background is one of a kind. That means the pairing of pose, pattern, and paper you see is specific to that single piece and won’t be repeated.
