patterned paper and painted Braille on 1940/1941 spelling workbook pages
This collage came out of two precious finds. The first was three tiny tintypes from the 1800s. The photographs are of two boys and a woman in a voluminous plaid dress. The second find was a 1940s spelling workbook. This kid was a crackerjack speller! (Way better than I am, that’s for sure.) Combine the two finds together in collage form and voila! There is definitely a story in this collage if you have the imagination.
